Prospective students are assessed before commencing tuition to determine vocal strengths and weaknesses, in order to devise a study programme to suit the individual’s needs.
The first session, takes the form of a vocal assessment, which is normally for an hour for adults and is $90 for an hour, payable at the time of assessment. This price includes a half hour assessment and half hour individual lesson plan and exercise and repertoire program.
This assessment is to evaluate vocal range, breath support and management, pitch and intonation, articulation, and basic musicianship, style interpretation etc and also to ascertain if there are any potential vocal health problems.
Prospective students need not feel obligated to enrol for regular lessons, at that time, as this is also a time for assessing whether student and teacher are right for each other. At times, prospective students are referred to other teachers or to vocal health medical specialists.
Prospective students are free to sing original compositions in the assessment, as a means of determining placement used, appropriate tonal qualities, articulation and keys.
Lyn at times may need to reschedule lessons due to performances of her own, or University obligations.

I am hoping to find a teacher/voice coach who can help me make the most of my voice. I am 69 and have been training on and off since I was 52. I have a show where I act and sing as Dame NELLIE Melba mostly performing at nursing homes.
