WHY HAVE SINGING LESSONS?

Ever asked yourself “Why would I need private lessons from Lyn Gillett Voice Studio, I am already attending a Talent School or Singing School in Melbourne”

Just take a moment to look at the following points, which may help you with the answer.

You do need private lessons if:

  • You do not completely understand the basic fundamental vocal principles which may or may not be outlined in a class situation.
  • You are unhappy with the sound of your voice and consider your voice to be weak, especially when singing high notes
  • You have difficulty in knowing whether you are doing the exercises properly
  • Your voice becomes strained while performing and sounds husky
  • You want to develop strength in all parts of your voice as soon as possible.
  • You want a stronger ‘head’ tone, and a blend of chest and head tone (register) suitable for singing ALL styles.
  • You need to develop confidence and presentation for singing auditions. You wish to develop repertoire (your choice of material)
  • You have specific fundamental vocal difficulties, which are unable to be addressed in a class.

You may not need private lessons if:

  • You answered ‘no’ to most of the above questions.
  • You can’t be bothered, or don’t have the time to practise or to do the exercises learned in classes.
  • You are happy with the pace of your singing development.
  • You are not planning to use your voice to participate in auditions or performances.
  • You are not really committed to improving the sound of your voice.
